Lufthansa Industry Solutions and SLOC, manufacturer of smart devices for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), are now cooperating on digitalization projects in the field of logistics. One of the first focal points is waste management.
Lufthansa Industry Solutions and SLOC further expand cooperation
Graz/Norderstedt, October 4, 2021 - The contract signed today by Lufthansa Industry Solutions (LHIND) and SLOC is intended to further manifest the partnership between the two IT companies. The agreement covers hardware and software sales as well as hardware-related services and IT services such as software development and consulting. Examples include customer-specific solution development, implementation of use cases in waste management, strategic solutions in the field of smart logistics with a defined portfolio, and the development of new features such as a flight phase sensor.
SLOC and LHIND want to "intensify long-standing cooperation"
"Lufthansa Industry Solutions has been an important and trustworthy partner for us for many years. Therefore, I am very pleased that we are intensifying our cooperation and will appear together in the market for selected projects in the future," says Alec Essati, founder and managing director of SLOC GmbH.
"In the long term, we are combining our expertise and experience in the field of IIoT with SLOC's products to create strategic solutions for the entire logistics industry," explains Ingo Pietruska, Vice President Strategic Business Development at Lufthansa Industry Solutions, and Dr. Holger Schlüter, Product Manager IoT Solutions at LHIND, adds, "SLOC is a leading manufacturer in sensor technology, especially in waste management. The new partnership will create an attractive one-stop shop for customers from very different sectors."
SLOC will supply mobile devices (hardware, firmware), a device management portal, and white label software. In addition, the start-up, founded in 2017, will provide a programming interface and other support for the development of customized firmware versions. LHIND contributes IT and digitalization consulting, develops software and custom firmware, and provides system integration and application management.
More efficient route planning for waste management
A first project in smart waste management is already planned. There, the partners want to develop more efficient route planning based on sensor data on the fill level of individual containers, among other things, in order to respond to the shortage of qualified professional drivers with a simultaneous increase in waste volumes. In other projects, SLOC and LHIND have already optimized fruit logistics and the tracking of transport damage.
