Under the slogan “Driving the Digital Future”, the Hamburg IT Strategy Days 2019 on February 21 and 22 will explore recipes for innovative success. Lufthansa Industry Solutions will address the topic of Artificial Intelligence at the event, presenting three showcases on practical use cases at its booth. In addition, the company will host a round-table discussion entitled “Artificial Intelligence – From Promise to Practice”.
Norderstedt, February 20, 2018 – For AI to be of tangible benefit to people, it should be able to perform simple, repetitive tasks automatically and with aplomb, but be sure to hand back to human control when uncertain. Only then, when people can use their additional capacity to take on other challenging tasks, will AI automation generate noticeable gains in efficiency in business applications. But will that actually come to pass – or will AI ultimately just make people redundant?
This is the question Carsten Osius (Bauer Media Group) and Heiko Packwitz (Lufthansa Industry Solutions) will tackle in their round-table discussion at the Hamburg IT Strategy Days, entitled “Artificial Intelligence – From Promise to Practice”. Together with the other participants, the IT experts will examine the opportunities and limits of artificial intelligence and discuss whether Germany has already missed the boat on this new technology. Or, on the other hand, could German small and medium-sized enterprises become leaders in AI technology?
Dr. Henning Krüger, CIO of Lufthansa Technik AG, will introduce the digitalization projects undertaken by Lufthansa Technik AG in his speech, “Digital Aircraft Maintenance. The Journey of our IT Organization”, on February 21 at 2.30pm. The aim is to reorganize the existing IT and workshop landscape to meet the challenges of the future through increased networking, automation and artificial intelligence, as well as by creating forms of collaboration which encourage innovation.
The motto of this year’s Hamburg IT Strategy Days, organized by Hamburg@work, FAKTOR 3 LIVE and CIO Magazine, is “Driving the Digital Future – Agile IT and Innovation Management for the World of Tomorrow”. The sold-out event will see around 800 CIOs and IT decision-makers discuss recipes for innovative success.
Lufthansa Industry Solutions will be in attendance, running an information stand and hosting a discussion forum at the event, held on February 21 and 22 at the Hotel Grand Elysée in Hamburg. The round-table discussion on “Artificial Intelligence – From Promise to Practice” will be held on February 21, 2019, from 12.25pm until 1.10pm.
