Lufthansa Industry Solutions at the IAPH World Ports Conference
Globalization is confronting ports around the world with mounting challenges. The constantly increasing flows of goods and traffic must be organized ever more efficiently, more safely and with a stronger orientation to demand – not least when ecological concerns are given due consideration. More than ever, the focus of port logistics is shifting to IT systems. Only smart ports will be able to fulfill the growing requirements.
From June 2-5, Lufthansa Industry Solutions will be showing how the increasingly complex logistics processes in maritime industries can be intelligently managed with the aid of new, digital technologies at the IAPH World Ports Conference,(Stand 23 in Hall D of the Conference Center in Hamburg). At its stand, this wholly-owned subsidiary of the German Lufthansa AG will also be presenting a project from its innovation laboratory: a new pilot system to enhance the efficiency of the pier planning process improves the predictability of delays and supports the decision-making process for pier planning.
Another item on the program is the talk by Volker Worthmann, Director of Transport and Logistics at Lufthansa Industry Solutions: From 9:00-9:20 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, this logistics expert will be speaking on the topic of “IT is ready for smart solutions”.
